Axi, formerly branded AxiTrader and operated by AxiCorp Financial Services Pty Ltd, is an online CFD and forex broker founded in 2007 in Sydney, Australia. It offers retail and professional clients trading in forex, share CFDs, indices, commodities such as gold and oil, cryptocurrency CFDs and IPOs, with more than 450 tradable instruments listed on its site. Clients trade through MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, MT4 WebTrader and a proprietary copy trading app, and UK clients can also open spread betting accounts. The company rebranded from AxiTrader to Axi in October 2020. Axi differentiates itself as a multi-entity, multi-regulator broker rather than a single-jurisdiction operation. AxiCorp Financial Services Pty Ltd is licensed by ASIC in Australia (licence 318232) and the FMA in New Zealand (licence 518226), Axi Financial Services (UK) Ltd by the FCA (firm reference 466201), Solaris EMEA Ltd by CySEC in Cyprus (licence 433/23), and the group additionally holds a DFSA licence in the UAE. Its most distinct product is Axi Select, a capital allocation (funded trader) program launched in 2023 that lets qualifying retail traders progress through stages toward accounts of up to $1,000,000 in firm capital with up to 90% profit share, no registration or monthly fees, and a mirrored account that copies a trader's trades at a multiplier, a model aimed at traders who lack their own capital rather than only offering traditional leveraged margin accounts. Axi was founded by Goran Drapac. Australian investment firm RGT Capital acquired the business in 2016 and installed Rajesh Yohannan, previously CEO of OANDA Asia Pacific and before that a Citibank executive, as chief executive. In October 2022, Yohannan and his senior management team completed a management buyout, taking full ownership of the company from RGT Capital. Axi grew partly by acquisition: it bought Middle East and Europe focused broker One Financial Markets in August 2018 (whose founder, Khalifa Butti Bin Omeir, took an equity stake in AxiCorp as part of the deal) and UK trading technology firm Star Financial Systems in February 2020. By its own current reporting, Axi employs 300+ staff across 9 offices, serves clients in 100+ countries, and processes roughly $5 trillion in annual trading volume. Axi Select passed 17,400 funded traders within its first year (October 2024) and over 20,000 by December 2024, with some traders reaching funding milestones of $100,000, $200,000 and $500,000. Since the October 2020 rebrand, Axi has built a sports sponsorship platform around its deal as Official Online Trading Partner of Manchester City and Manchester City Women, later extended to Girona FC and Esporte Clube Bahia, with Manchester City defender John Stones as a brand ambassador. Combined with Axi Select, the company uses this to position itself as a broker focused on trader development and capital access rather than execution alone.
