The LSE Directory / CFD and forex brokers
Bitget is a centralized cryptocurrency exchange founded in 2018 by a team with a traditional finance background, registered in Seychelles. Its core business is spot trading, futures trading (USDT-M, USDC-M and Coin-M perpetual and delivery contracts), margin trading, staking and Earn products, trading bots, and Launchpool token launches, accessed through a web platform and mobile apps. Bitget also owns Bitget Wallet, a separate self-custody Web3 wallet product formed from its 2023 acquisition of BitKeep. Bitget's main point of differentiation within the exchange category is copy trading: it launched the feature in 2020 and is widely cited, including by the company itself, as one of the largest crypto copy-trading platforms, with the company reporting over one million active copy-trading users as of mid-2026. In December 2025 it extended that model beyond crypto with Bitget TradFi, a CFD product that lets existing users trade major forex pairs, gold and other metals, commodities, indices and stock CFDs from the same account, margined and settled in USDT rather than through a separate broker account or bank wire, with leverage of up to 500x offered under a framework regulated by the Financial Services Commission of Mauritius. The company frames this combined offering as a "Universal Exchange" (UEX), positioned as a single account spanning centralized exchange, decentralized exchange and CFD-style trading rather than a traditionally licensed multi-asset broker. Gracy Chen has been CEO since May 2024, succeeding founding CEO Sandra Lou; Chen joined Bitget as its first Managing Director in 2022. The BitKeep wallet acquisition and rebrand to Bitget Wallet was reported at roughly 30 million dollars in 2023; that wallet product separately passed 100 million users in July 2026, with the company reporting that daily payment use (spending via its wallet cards, issued in 50-plus markets) had for the first time overtaken trading use among its wallet base. On the exchange side, Bitget reported more than 125 million registered users across 150-plus regions and roughly 20 billion dollars in average daily trading volume in company statements around mid-2026. It also runs a self-funded, roughly 100 million dollar venture arm investing in early-stage Web3 projects. Regulatory registrations and approvals the company has publicized include a digital currency exchange provider registration with Australia's AUSTRAC, Bitcoin Service Provider and Digital Asset Service Provider licenses in El Salvador, virtual asset service provider registrations in Poland and Lithuania, a digital asset license via Georgia's Tbilisi Free Zone, and Self-Regulatory Organization AML membership in Switzerland; Wikipedia also records past regulatory warnings issued against Bitget by authorities including Singapore, Australia (ASIC), Germany (BaFin) and France (AMF). Bitget has run high-profile sports sponsorships, including a 2021 shirt-sleeve sponsorship of Juventus FC, a 2022 partnership naming Lionel Messi a global brand ambassador, and a 2024 regional partnership with LaLiga. In a company address dated July 2, 2026, Chen described Bitget's strategic pivot from "being a crypto exchange to a holistic universal provider," citing internal figures that 52 percent of its users then held both stocks and crypto, 35 percent held gold or other precious metals, and 51 percent used its AI-powered trading tools (branded GetAgent, alongside products named Stock+ and Reality); the address also cited over 500 tokenized stocks, ETFs, commodities and FX instruments available on the platform and more than one million users of its AI trading features.
