FP Markets, the trading name of First Prudential Markets, is an online forex and CFD broker founded in Sydney, Australia in 2005 by Matthew Murphie. It gives retail and professional clients access to more than 10,000 CFD instruments across forex, shares, indices, commodities, metals, bonds, ETFs and cryptocurrencies where locally permitted, executed through MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, cTrader, TradingView and, for Australian clients, Iress. The firm also runs its own social trading application, launched in 2021, alongside these core platforms. The broker competes in the raw spread ECN segment of the retail CFD market, aimed at scalpers, day traders and algorithmic strategies rather than casual investors. Its Raw account advertises spreads from 0.0 pips plus a per lot commission, with direct market access and STP/ECN execution meant to minimise slippage. In April 2026 it added an AI driven research layer, FP Markets Intelligence, built with analytics provider Acuity Trading and integrated directly into MT4 and MT5. The suite bundles signal based market commentary called AnalysisIQ, a cross asset dashboard called Assets Overview, and real time news analysis called NewsIQ, letting clients research and trade inside one workflow instead of switching between separate tools. First Prudential Markets Pty Ltd holds Australian Financial Services license 286354 from ASIC, and First Prudential Markets Ltd holds Cyprus Investment Firm license 371/18 from CySEC, confirmed active on CySEC's public register. The group is additionally licensed by South Africa's FSCA (FSP number 50926), the Seychelles FSA (license SD130) and Kenya's Capital Markets Authority (license 103). As of 2024 it employed more than 250 staff across offices in Australia, Cyprus, South Africa, Kenya, Seychelles, the Bahamas, Mauritius and St Vincent and the Grenadines. Its award history includes Best Global Forex Value Broker for five consecutive years, from 2019 to 2023, and Investment Trends' Best for Quality of Trade Execution in 2019. In June 2026 FP Markets won Most Trusted Broker at the Global UF Awards, presented at iFX EXPO International in Limassol, Cyprus. The broker's own release for that award describes Limassol as its current headquarters and cites a history of more than 80 industry awards since the 2005 Sydney founding, indicating the group's operational centre of gravity has shifted toward its Cyprus entity over time.
