Libertex is an online retail trading platform operated by Indication Investments Ltd. It offers contracts for difference on forex, indices, commodities, cryptocurrencies, ETFs and stocks, alongside a separate account, Libertex Invest, launched in 2024, for buying real shares outright on a commission-free basis. Clients trade through Libertex's own web and mobile app or through MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5, with the platform advertising access to more than 1,000 underlying instruments. The broker's main differentiator is its pricing model. Rather than marking up the spread on CFDs, Libertex prices most instruments without a spread markup and charges a separate per-trade commission instead, a structure it has marketed for years as zero-spread trading. This positions it against wider-spread CFD competitors on cost transparency and targets retail traders primarily across the EU/EEA, where it operates on a MiFID passport, plus additional international markets. The Libertex brand was launched in 2012 by Indication Investments Ltd, a Cyprus firm regulated by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission under license 164/12. The wider Libertex Group traces its roots to 1997, when it operated in Russia under the Forex Club name, before building the business around the Libertex platform from around 2015. CySEC partially suspended Indication Investments' license in August 2021 over compliance concerns; the suspension was lifted the same month. Michael Geiger, who joined the company in 2011 and rose through the CFO role, has served as CEO since 2015. On its own group site, Libertex states it serves more than 22 million clients in over 120 countries, with 700-plus staff and more than 50 million app downloads. Libertex has used sports sponsorship as a marketing channel, including a three-year deal with Tottenham Hotspur that ran 2020 to 2023, an ongoing partnership with Bayern Munich since 2022, and a Formula One sponsorship of the Stake F1 Team announced in February 2025. In August 2025 the wider group added a second brand, LBX, an offshore CFD broker registered in Mauritius under MAEX Limited, run alongside the core CySEC-regulated Libertex entity.
