The LSE Directory / CFD and forex brokers
Mitrade is an online CFD and forex broker headquartered in Melbourne, Australia, offering leveraged trading in currency pairs, share CFDs, stock indices, commodities, ETFs, and cryptocurrencies through its own proprietary web, desktop, and mobile platforms rather than third-party terminals such as MT4 or MT5. The brand covers more than 800 tradable instruments and markets a zero-commission pricing model in which costs are embedded in floating spreads. The company differentiates itself from MT4/MT5-based competitors by controlling its own trading technology stack end to end, pairing that platform with a stated focus on retail accessibility: a simplified account-opening flow, mobile-first design, and bundled market data and analysis feeds from partners including TradingView, Trading Central, FXStreet, and Investing.com. Mitrade operates through six separately licensed entities rather than a single regulator, a structure it uses to serve retail clients across Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, and, since October 2025, Africa. The Mitrade brand traces to predecessor Australian entities dating to 2011 (including You Trade Capital Markets and Imperium Forex Group, per corporate filings), with the current proprietary platform and Mitrade name launched in 2019. It reports more than 7 million users worldwide and holds licenses from ASIC in Australia (AFSL 398528), CySEC in Cyprus (438/23), CIMA in the Cayman Islands (SIB 1612446), the FSC in Mauritius (GB20025791), and, following its October 2025 acquisition of Fridah Asset Managers, the FSCA in South Africa (FSP 54842). In June 2023, ASIC issued Mitrade Global an interim stop order over deficiencies in its retail investor target-market questionnaire; the order was revoked in July 2023 after Mitrade addressed the concerns. In 2024, the Philippines SEC issued a public advisory naming Mitrade among platforms operating there without registration. In April 2026, Mitrade obtained a Category 5 (arranging and advisory) license from the UAE Capital Markets Authority, allowing it to introduce and promote CFD products to UAE clients without directly executing their trades, extending its footprint into the Middle East alongside its existing licensed markets.
