The LSE Directory / CFD and forex brokers
MultiBank Group is a financial derivatives broker offering CFD trading in forex, precious metals, commodities, indices, shares and cryptocurrencies from a single account, executed through MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5 and its proprietary MultiBank Plus/App platform across Standard, Pro and ECN commission account tiers. Alongside the CFD brokerage, the group runs a separate crypto-native arm, MultiBank.io, offering spot and derivatives cryptocurrency trading. The firm specialises in operating a multi-jurisdictional regulatory footprint rather than a single license: broker-review sources document authorisations from more than a dozen regulators, including ASIC in Australia, CySEC in Cyprus, BaFin in Germany, MAS in Singapore, FMA in New Zealand and AUSTRAC, letting it onboard clients under locally licensed entities across roughly 100 countries. It differs from narrower CFD-only competitors by pairing that traditional brokerage with a Dubai VARA (Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority) licensed crypto exchange subsidiary, MEX Digital FZE, and by advertising leverage up to 1:1000 on certain account types plus supplementary excess-loss insurance cover, reportedly underwritten through Lloyd's of London up to 1,000,000 dollars, per a broker review at investing.com. MultiBank Group was founded in 2005 in California by Naser Taher, a Jordanian-born businessman educated in mechanical engineering and automatic feedback control at the University of Sheffield, who previously worked in foreign exchange and electronic banking at BNP Paribas, Barclays, UBS, Merrill Lynch, Credit Suisse and Citibank; he remains the group's founder and chairman. The company later operated out of Hong Kong before relocating its headquarters to Dubai, UAE in late 2022. According to Entrepreneur Middle East, the group reported 2023 revenue of 306.6 million dollars, up 10 percent from 279.5 million dollars in 2022, daily trading volume reaching 25.6 billion dollars in 2024, roughly 1,000 employees, 25 offices plus more than 100 affiliates, and over one million clients across 100 countries; broker-review sources separately cite paid-up capital exceeding 322 million dollars. In October 2024 its MEX Digital FZE subsidiary obtained the VARA license underpinning the MultiBank.io brand. In 2025 MultiBank Group partnered with Dubai developer MAG and blockchain-infrastructure firm Mavryk on a 3 billion dollar real-estate tokenisation programme covering properties including the Ritz-Carlton Residences Dubai Creekside and Keturah Reserve, with a stated ambition to scale to 10 billion dollars, and in July 2025 launched its MBG utility token (for fee payment, staking and settlement across its platforms) on MEXC, Gate.io, Uniswap and MultiBank.io, alongside an announced 440 million dollar, four-year buyback and share-repurchase programme.
