The LSE Directory / CFD and forex brokers
tastyfx is the United States retail spot foreign exchange brand of IG Group, the London-listed trading group. It lets US residents trade roughly 85 spot currency pairs, spanning majors, minors, and a set of emerging-market and Scandinavian crosses, through a proprietary web and mobile platform or through MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, TradingView, and ProRealTime. It carries forward the business previously operated under the IG US name, which IG rebranded to tastyfx on June 25, 2024. Because it operates under US retail forex rules, tastyfx is restricted by regulation to spot currency trading only; it does not offer CFDs, futures, options, equities, or cryptocurrency to its US retail clients. Leverage on major pairs is capped at 50:1, the ceiling set by the CFTC for US retail forex. The firm structures accounts by trading style: a zero-commission Standard account with wider built-in spreads, a Zero+ account with commission-based pricing and tighter raw spreads, and a Prime account requiring a 50,000 dollar minimum that offers volume-based rebates. It supplements its own execution with third-party research and signal tools, including Autochartist pattern alerts and a Thomson Reuters news feed. tastyfx LLC is a CFTC-registered Retail Foreign Exchange Dealer and NFA member, headquartered in Chicago. It sits inside IG Group's US business alongside tastytrade and tastylive, brands built around Tom Sosnoff's Chicago-based options broker Tastytrade, which IG Group acquired in January 2021 for 1 billion dollars; that acquired brokerage was itself renamed tastytrade in 2023. IG Group, the parent company, was founded in 1974 by British financier Stuart Wheeler and is listed on the London Stock Exchange as a FTSE 100 constituent. IG had entered the US market separately in 2007 through its purchase of HedgeStreet, later rebranded Nadex, well before the 2019 launch of the IG US forex business that became tastyfx. Following the 2024 rebrand, tastyfx moved into a new 35,000 square foot Chicago headquarters shared with its tasty family sister brands and committed 600,000 dollars to the Greenwood Project, a program supporting finance career development for young people of color. The tastyfx business, under its current and prior IG US branding, has repeatedly placed first in ForexBrokers.com's annual US forex broker rankings, including its 2026 review.
