The LSE Directory / CFD and forex brokers

Trade Nation is a multi-jurisdiction online broker offering contracts for difference (CFDs) and, for UK residents, spread betting across forex, indices, commodities, shares and government bonds, with more than 1,000 tradable markets in total. Clients trade through the firm's own TN Trader platform (desktop and mobile), MetaTrader 4 with TradeCopier support, or a TradingView charting integration layered on Trade Nation's own pricing. A limited set of cryptocurrency CFDs is available only to clients onboarded through its Bahamas entity, not to UK or EU retail clients. The firm's positioning centers on cost transparency rather than breadth of exotic products: it advertises fixed spreads (quoted, for example, around 0.6 pips on EUR/USD) that do not widen as markets move, promotes a "Spread Saver" tool for comparing its pricing against rival brokers, and charges no platform, inactivity, deposit or withdrawal fees, with no minimum deposit on its core account. Its multi-entity regulatory structure lets clients outside the UK and EU access materially higher leverage, up to 1:200 through its South African or Bahamian entities and up to 1:500 through its Seychelles entity, compared with the 1:30 cap applied to FCA and ASIC-regulated retail clients. The business traces to 2014, when UK entrepreneur Jasper White acquired the company that became Core Spreads; it rebranded to the Trade Nation name in 2019, continuing to build out the new brand through 2020 while broadening from its original UK spread-betting base into international CFD markets. It operates as a trading name of Trade Nation Financial UK Ltd (FCA firm reference 525164) and holds additional licenses with Australia's ASIC (AFSL 422661), the Seychelles Financial Services Authority, the Bahamas Securities Commission, South Africa's FSCA and Portugal's CMVM. It sponsors Aston Villa Football Club as a principal partner and Somerset County Cricket Club. Trade Nation went through a significant leadership change in 2025: long-serving CEO Stuart Lane, who had led the firm for over a decade, stepped down (remaining a company director) and was succeeded by Jon Noble, a more than two-decade IG Group veteran and former IG Chief Operating Officer, still under Jasper White's ownership. In November 2025 the firm added former Capital.com CEO Kypros Zoumidou as Managing Director. In May 2026, Trade Nation co-founded the Bahamas Institute of Forex and CFD Issuers alongside Pepperstone and Capital.com, a not-for-profit body focused on regulatory dialogue and market standards in the Bahamas' CFD sector, with the firm's Bahamas CEO Richard Nathan among its founding executives.
