The LSE Directory / CFD and forex brokers
Vantage (branded Vantage Markets, formerly Vantage FX) is an online multi-asset broker offering contract for difference (CFD) trading on forex, indices, precious metals, energy, soft commodities, share CFDs, ETFs and bonds, with more than 1,000 tradable instruments. Clients trade through MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, a proprietary web and mobile app, and a TradingView integration; the firm also runs a ProTrader platform and supports third party copy trading services including ZuluTrade, DupliTrade and Myfxbook AutoTrade. The company was founded in Sydney, Australia in 2009 and operates through several regionally regulated entities rather than a single global license. Vantage targets retail traders with tiered account types, a commission-free spread-based Standard STP account, and Raw ECN and Pro ECN accounts that charge a per-lot commission on tighter, raw spreads, alongside swap-free accounts for clients who require Islamic-compliant terms. On the institutional side it offers FIX API access and liquidity solutions under its Vantage Connect and Vantage Prime lines, a business line that traces back to a 2014 partnership with, and 2015 absorption of, the Australian institutional firm MXT Global. The 2021 rebrand from Vantage FX to Vantage Markets was positioned to reflect its expansion from a forex-focused broker into a multi-asset CFD platform. The group holds regulatory licenses including the UK Financial Conduct Authority (license 590299), Australia's ASIC (license 428901), the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (license 1383491) and the Vanuatu Financial Services Commission (license 700271), and has separately reported holding professional indemnity and civil liability insurance underwritten through Lloyd's of London. As of a September 2025 Finance Magnates profile, Vantage reported serving more than 5 million registered clients globally after more than 15 years in the industry. Marc Despallieres holds the title of Chief Executive Officer. Vantage has pursued Formula 1 and motorsport sponsorship as a brand strategy: it backed the McLaren Extreme E off-road racing team from February 2022, and in February 2025 signed a multi-year deal to become an official partner of Scuderia Ferrari HP, Ferrari's Formula 1 team, with branding appearing across the team's F1 operations.
