The LSE Directory / Charting platforms
ChartIQ is a white-label, JavaScript-based charting library and SDK that financial firms license and embed into their own trading and research applications to render interactive, high-performance price charts. It is built as a browser-native, W3C web-component framework with wrappers for React, Angular and Vue plus native mobile SDKs for iOS, Android, React Native and Flutter, so a single codebase renders streaming real-time price data alongside technical-analysis studies, options analytics and trade-visualization tools inside the licensee's own branded interface rather than a ChartIQ-branded end-user product. ChartIQ specialises in supplying the charting layer itself rather than a full trading terminal: banks, brokers, exchanges, market-data vendors and fintech developers license the library and skin it as their own, instead of building charting in house or buying an off-the-shelf platform. Its differentiation versus other embeddable charting libraries is capital-markets-specific depth, options term-structure and analytics visualization, trade markers, and multi-timeframe technical studies, delivered from one codebase across web, desktop and mobile, with S&P Global's own reference and market data available as an add-on since the 2023 acquisition. ChartIQ was founded in 2012 in Charlottesville, Virginia, led by CEO and co-founder Dan Schleifer. In February 2019 it raised a 17.4 million dollar Series B round led by Digital+ Partners, with participation from Illuminate Financial Management, Social Leverage and ValueStream Ventures. In July 2020 the company renamed itself Cosaic, bringing the ChartIQ charting library together with its separate Finsemble desktop-interoperability product under one corporate brand. S&P Global then acquired the ChartIQ charting business from Cosaic in a deal signed December 23, 2022 and closed January 1, 2023, terms undisclosed; Cosaic simultaneously spun off Finsemble as an independent company under its original founders and retired the Cosaic name. At the time, S&P Global said the deal would extend ChartIQ's charts to the hundreds of thousands of users of its Capital IQ Pro platform and the thousands of clients of its Datafeeds and Markit Digital businesses. Since the acquisition, ChartIQ sits inside S&P Global Market Intelligence, powering the charting used in the Capital IQ Pro desktop while continuing to be licensed as a standalone product to institutions outside the S&P Global platform. S&P Global has since layered AI-assisted features onto the product, including natural-language exploration of chart data and AI-generated summaries of market events on top of the existing technical-analysis toolset.
