The LSE Directory / Charting platforms
ChartMill is a web-based stock screening, charting and financial analysis platform for self-directed traders and investors, covering roughly 22,000 to 22,500 stocks and select ETFs across the US, Canada and Europe. Its screener combines more than 180 technical and fundamental filters, letting users search by criteria such as moving averages, relative strength, earnings and revenue growth, valuation ratios and dividend history, alongside interactive charts, automated support and resistance detection, and pre-built trading idea templates covering strategies such as CANSLIM, breakout setups and Weinstein stage 1 setups. Most screener data updates once daily after the US market close, with market data on the platform delayed by 15 minutes across all plans. The platform differentiates itself through proprietary scoring rather than raw data volume: a 0 to 10 Trend Rating and Value Rating for each stock, a Technical Rating and Setup Rating for gauging chart strength and consolidation quality, and dedicated Weinstein Stage and Weinstein Stage Length indicators that classify a stock into Stan Weinstein's four-stage model directly on weekly charts. This positions ChartMill toward swing and day traders who screen by technical setup as much as by fundamentals, alongside value and growth investors, rather than toward institutional users; the company itself states its tools are not intended as a broker, tax-lot system or institutional portfolio platform. ChartMill was founded in Sint-Niklaas, Belgium by Michel Lahaye and Kristoff De Turck. De Turck has said in a company interview that he ran the site alongside a career as a police chief inspector handling cybercrime cases before moving to ChartMill full time. The company is self-funded, with no external financing rounds on record, and operates with a small team of roughly two to three people. It offers a limited free tier alongside a paid subscription, reported by independent review sites at approximately $34.97 per month or $299.97 per year, which unlocks fuller access to financial history, earnings estimates and the trading idea screens. Through the first half of 2026, ChartMill continued to expand its screener's filter set, adding relative strength percentile indicators scored over three and six month lookbacks, a Graham formula fair value filter for value investors, and filters on reported net income, revenue and employee count, reflecting a pattern of incremental screener depth rather than a broader platform pivot.
