The LSE Directory / Charting platforms
Coinigy is a cloud-based cryptocurrency trading and portfolio management platform, accessible via web browser, desktop app, and mobile app, that lets a user link 45 plus exchange accounts through API keys and trade, chart, and monitor balances from one dashboard rather than logging into each exchange separately. It is non-custodial: user funds and API credentials remain with the connected exchanges, not with Coinigy. Its proprietary CryptoSYNC technology polls linked exchanges and wallets to keep balances, open orders, and trade history synchronised across accounts in near real time. Charting runs on a TradingView-based engine with more than 75 technical indicators and supports placing orders, including stop-limit orders, directly from the chart. Coinigy targets active and professional retail crypto traders who hold positions across multiple exchanges and want one execution and monitoring surface, plus a separate developer segment served through its API. The company differentiates on breadth of exchange connectivity and a developer-facing data product, Coinigy CryptoFeed, offered through Certified Exchange Partners; its API V2 exposes REST endpoints for account and market data (including OHLC candles) alongside a SocketCluster-based WebSocket feed (trades, order books, tickers, and blockchain block alerts) authenticated via API key, timestamp, and HMAC-SHA256 signature. This combination of a retail terminal and a licensable market-data API is less common among pure charting-and-alerts tools in its category, most of which do not also sell their aggregated feed to third-party developers. The company is headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and began as a cryptocurrency data service offering real-time charts and technical indicators before adding integrated trading. It raised a seed round in 2016 to build what it called its "2.0" trading platform, and by late 2017, during that year's bitcoin bull run, had grown to roughly 80,000 users. On August 24, 2021, Coinigy was acquired by Lightspeed Crypto, the newly formed cryptocurrency division of Lightspeed Financial Services Group (the active-trader brokerage owned by Wedbush Securities since 2018), with Coinigy's Robert Borden (CEO) and William Kehl (President) staying on to lead the combined crypto offering; the deal gave Lightspeed's existing brokerage customers direct access to crypto trading through Coinigy's technology. Coinigy continues to operate its own branded platform and blog (Coinigy Insights) alongside its integration into Lightspeed's active-trader ecosystem, and continues to publish crypto market commentary and maintain its multi-exchange terminal and API business as of mid-2026.
