Darwinex is a multi-jurisdiction regulated online broker and asset manager that turns a retail trader's verified track record into a tradable, investable index called a DARWIN. Investors buy and sell DARWINs like any other quoted asset (starting at a base quote of 100 and moving with the strategy's accumulated, cost-adjusted returns, recalculated roughly every 30 seconds); they see the DARWIN's price and risk statistics but not the underlying trader's individual positions, which stay hidden to protect the trader's intellectual property. Traders execute on Darwinex's own MetaTrader 4/5 infrastructure across FX, CFDs on indices and commodities, and, since a later integration, futures, US stocks and ETFs routed through Interactive Brokers. What differentiates Darwinex from a standard copy-trading or social-trading broker is that investor exposure is not a mirrored, trade-for-trade replica of the source strategy. An in-house Risk Engine recalculates position sizing for every DARWIN so it sits within a standardised risk band (the company states 3.25 to 6.5 percent monthly Value at Risk), decoupling the investor's risk profile from whatever leverage or sizing the originating trader actually used. Traders earn a performance fee, described by the company as 20 percent of the profit a DARWIN generates for investors, with no obligation to raise or manage the capital themselves. A companion product, Darwinex Zero, launched in 2023, lets traders build and prove a track record on demo capital under a monthly subscription, then graduates the strongest performers (ranked through a program called DarwinIA) to real seed capital without a traditional prop-firm challenge or evaluation fee. The company was founded in 2012 by brothers Juan and Javier Colon together with Miguel Angel Gonzalez, initially trading as Tradeslide before relaunching as Darwinex in 2014; Javier Colon's own frustration as an independent trader unable to raise outside capital was the founding motivation, and Juan Colon remains chief executive. Darwinex is headquartered in London (Canary Wharf) with a second office in Madrid, and operates through separately regulated entities: Tradeslide Trading Tech Ltd in the UK under the FCA (FRN 586466), Sapiens Markets EU Sociedad de Valores SA in Spain under the CNMV, and Tradeslide Global Ltd in the Seychelles under the FSA, giving it a MiFID passport across the EU. The company has reported assets under management exceeding 100 million euros across thousands of investor accounts, with some individual DARWINs carrying tens of millions of dollars in AUM. Darwinex expanded its market coverage in September 2025 with an MT5-based crypto CFD account covering Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Cardano, XRP, BNB and Dogecoin, available around the clock on weekdays to EU and Global clients (professional clients only on the UK entity), while continuing to run Darwinex Zero as a distinct funded-trader track alongside its original investor-facing DARWIN marketplace.
