The LSE Directory / Charting platforms
eSignal is a Windows-only desktop application for real-time market data, charting, and technical analysis, aimed at active day and swing traders and, at its higher tiers, institutional and professional users. The core product streams quotes, news, and analytics across equities, options, futures, forex, and commodities, with the company citing coverage of more than 25 million instruments across 600-plus data sources and 300-plus venues. Charting is built around a widget based interface (charts, watchlists, scanners, market profiles, and option chains) plus customisable technical studies, market scanning, alerting, and Level II market depth. Traders can extend the platform with eSignal Formula Script (EFS), a proprietary scripting language based on JavaScript used to build custom indicators and backtest trading strategies, and the software integrates with a range of brokers, including Interactive Brokers, FXCM, and Rithmic, for order execution. eSignal differentiates itself from many charting competitors through its tiered product line and its Advanced GET module. The product is sold in three editions, Classic (delayed data), Signature (streaming real-time data, backtesting, and market depth), and Elite (adds Advanced GET). Advanced GET is a proprietary rules-based trend and pattern analysis toolset covering Elliott Wave counts, Fibonacci and Gann tools, and an Elliott Oscillator, positioned to generate objective wave counts and price projections rather than leaving pattern-reading entirely to the trader's eye. This combination of a scriptable general-purpose charting engine with a purpose-built Elliott Wave analytics add-on is a specific niche within the retail and prosumer charting category, where most competitors offer either general charting or proprietary pattern tools, not both under one roof. The eSignal product traces back to Data Broadcasting Corporation (DBC), which launched eSignal in May 1999 as a combined trading and data package. DBC's data business became Interactive Data Corporation in 2000, and Interactive Data was itself acquired by private equity firms Silver Lake and Warburg Pincus from Pearson PLC in 2010 for 3.4 billion dollars, before Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) completed its acquisition of Interactive Data in December 2015. eSignal is operated today as part of ICE Data Services, ICE's data and analytics division. The platform remains Windows-only; there is no native Mac client. As of mid-2026, eSignal continues to be marketed directly from esignal.com under ICE Data Services branding, with its three-tier Classic, Signature, and Elite pricing structure and Advanced GET positioned as an Elite-tier exclusive.
