The LSE Directory / Charting platforms

eToro is a multi-asset online trading and investing platform offering stocks, ETFs, cryptoassets, forex, commodities, indices, options, futures and CFDs from a single account. Its best known feature is CopyTrader, which lets a user allocate capital to automatically mirror the buy and sell activity of another trader on the platform in real time, rather than copying a static model portfolio. The platform also offers Smart Portfolios, theme based baskets of instruments, alongside conventional order types, charting (including TradingView powered charts with over 100 indicators) and an in-house education hub, eToro Academy. The company's core differentiator versus traditional brokers is its social layer: users can browse the public track records, risk scores and portfolios of other traders, follow them, and copy them, which eToro positions as a way for less experienced retail investors to participate in markets by following ones with longer verified histories. It operates in roughly 75 countries under a patchwork of regional regulatory entities rather than one global license, including the UK's FCA, Cyprus's CySEC, Australia's ASIC, the Abu Dhabi Global Market's FSRA and the Seychelles FSAS, plus a separate US entity, eToro USA LLC, for American customers. eToro was founded in 2007 in Tel Aviv, Israel, by brothers Yoni Assia and Ronen Assia together with David Ring; Yoni Assia remains chairman and CEO. The company went public on the Nasdaq Global Select Market on May 14, 2025 under the ticker ETOR, pricing its IPO at 52 dollars per share and raising close to 310 million dollars; the stock rose roughly 29 percent on its opening day, valuing the company at more than 5 billion dollars. In September 2024, eToro USA settled with the US Securities and Exchange Commission for 1.5 million dollars over charges of operating as an unregistered broker and clearing agency for crypto assets sold as securities, agreeing to restrict US crypto trading to Bitcoin, Ether and Bitcoin Cash and to return proceeds from other crypto assets to customers. As a newly public company eToro now reports business metrics on a regular cadence: for May 2026 it disclosed roughly 40 million cumulative registered users across 75 countries, about 4.23 million funded accounts, and 20.1 billion dollars in assets under administration, each up double digits year over year, alongside 7.2 billion dollars in interest earning client assets.
