MultiCharts is a Windows desktop application for technical analysis, strategy backtesting, and trade execution across futures, stocks, forex, and crypto markets. Users build indicators and automated trading strategies in PowerLanguage, a proprietary scripting language modeled closely on TradeStation's EasyLanguage and able to import most EasyLanguage code directly, or in a separate MultiCharts .NET edition that uses C# or VB.NET instead. Core modules include tick-by-tick and bar-based strategy backtesting, a Portfolio Trader for simulating and auto-trading baskets of instruments, a Market Scanner for real-time multi-symbol screening, and QuoteManager for organizing historical and imported price data. The platform is broker- and data-feed agnostic. Rather than running its own dealing desk, it connects to more than twenty third-party data providers, including CQG, IQFeed, Kinetick, and Rithmic, and to a wide range of brokers such as Interactive Brokers, so a trader's execution and market-data relationships stay independent of MultiCharts itself. Combined with a tick-level backtesting engine built to avoid look-ahead and bar-close bias, and a 64-bit Portfolio Trader that can process portfolios of hundreds of stocks and futures with per-symbol resolutions and walk-forward optimization, this connectivity-first model is how MultiCharts differentiates itself from TradeStation, the platform whose EasyLanguage inspired PowerLanguage: it targets serious discretionary and systematic traders and small trading firms who want platform-level precision without being tied to one broker's order routing or data feed. MultiCharts is developed and sold by MCT Limited, based in Gibraltar. Denis Globa is the platform's founder and CEO; he and colleagues from the MultiCharts team, including Stan Bokov and Konstantin Ivanov, went on to found the browser-based charting platform TradingView in 2011. The platform launched in 2005 and has been reviewed repeatedly in Technical Analysis of Stocks & Commodities magazine, which has described it as among the most robust software for interfacing with data feeds and profiled Globa directly; it also won Trade2Win's Members' Choice awards for Best Professional Trading Platform and Best Software for US Intra-Day Traders between 2008 and 2011. As of its current release line (version 15, with builds updated through September 2025), MultiCharts is still sold under both a one-time lifetime license and subscription pricing, alongside the separate .NET edition, and continues to be positioned for traders who want to backtest and automate strategies across whichever brokers and data vendors they already use rather than switching to a bundled all-in-one service.
