The LSE Directory / Charting platforms
Sierra Chart is a professional Windows desktop platform for real-time and historical charting, technical analysis, and trade execution across futures, stocks, forex, indexes, and options. The company, based in Sheridan, Wyoming, has operated continuously since 1996, developing both the front-end charting and trading software and the backend server infrastructure (market data servers and order-routing systems) that support it. It is not a broker or clearing firm; traders connect it to external execution services and fund accounts at partner brokerages to place live orders. Its two flagship proprietary services are the Denali Exchange Data Feed, direct exchange connectivity (including a dedicated line into CME's Aurora data center and colocated servers in Frankfurt for EUREX) delivering tick-by-tick, unfiltered market depth of up to 1,400 levels per side across CME, CBOT, NYMEX, COMEX, EUREX, CFE, NASDAQ, NYSE, AMEX and CBOE Global Indexes, and the Teton Futures Order Routing service, which sends outright and spread orders direct to CME Group exchanges with no added transaction fee and sub-millisecond latency. The platform differentiates on openness and depth for active futures and order-flow traders: it exposes the ACSIL C++ interface for building custom studies and automated trading systems, Spreadsheet Studies for building indicators without code, and the open DTC (Data and Trading Communications) protocol for third-party integration, alongside native volume-profile and order-flow (bid/ask volume) analytics. Sierra Chart also supports a wide range of third-party data and trading connections, including Interactive Brokers, CQG, Rithmic, and DTN IQFeed, so users are not locked into its own feed. Historical tick data through the Denali feed reaches back to 2011 for CME futures (1-minute data from 2008) and 2013 for EUREX (1-minute from 2010), with over a year of tick data and 15-plus years of daily history for US equities. Teton order routing is offered in partnership with multiple independent futures brokerages and clearing firms, including AMP Futures, Ironbeam, Discount Trading, Optimus Futures, Edge Clear, and Stage 5 Trading, which provide the funded accounts required to route live orders. The company is widely described in trade and broker-facing sources as self-funded and has historically spent little on marketing, building its user base among active futures and order-flow traders largely on the strength of its data infrastructure, low subscription pricing (an Integrated Advanced package listed at 46 dollars per month before exchange data fees), and open developer tooling.
