The LSE Directory / Charting platforms

TradingView is a browser-based charting and market-analysis platform combined with a social network for traders and investors. Its core product is an interactive charting engine (marketed as Supercharts) covering equities, ETFs, forex, crypto, futures, options, indices, bonds, and commodities, layered with screeners, heatmaps, an economic and earnings calendar, price alerts, and a news feed. Users write custom indicators and automated strategies in Pine Script, the platform's own scripting language, and can connect supported third-party brokers to place trades directly from a chart rather than through the broker's own interface. TradingView differs from desktop-bound competitors such as MetaTrader or NinjaTrader by being fully web and mobile based, with charts and ideas shared publicly the way posts are shared on a social network, so a large share of its indicator and strategy library is community-built and freely reused rather than vendor-supplied. It also runs a distinct B2B line of business: it licenses its charting technology to third parties through the free "Lightweight Charts" library, the fuller "Advanced Charts" library, embeddable website widgets (tickers, mini-charts, heatmaps, screeners), and a broker-integration REST API, which is how TradingView's charts end up embedded inside many other brokerages' and fintech apps rather than TradingView being a broker itself. The company was founded in 2011 by Denis Globa, who went on to serve as CEO; Globa and his co-founders had previously worked together at the charting firm MultiCharts. TradingView describes itself as used by more than 100 million traders and investors worldwide. In October 2021 it raised $298 million in a round led by Tiger Global Management, valuing the company at $3 billion, with paying customers in over 180 countries at the time; earlier backers included Insight Partners and DRW Venture Capital, and the company acquired the trade-execution firm TradeIt in 2018. In March 2020 TradingView relocated its head office from New York to London, which it now runs as a dual base alongside offices in Malaga and Tbilisi. TradingView's leadership has turned over recently: Oleg Mukhanov, previously the company's CFO, was promoted to CEO in January 2024 as Globa stepped back, then Mukhanov himself resigned the CEO post in March 2025, staying on as an advisor; at the time of writing no permanent successor had been publicly confirmed.
