The LSE Directory / Charting platforms

VectorVest is a stock analysis and portfolio management platform for self-directed investors, built around a proprietary VST rating system that scores each stock on three measures, Value, Safety and Timing, on a scale centered at 1.00, then reduces each score to a plain buy, sell or hold recommendation. The core desktop product is VectorVest 7, supplemented by a mobile app (Market Launchpad), a Stock Advisory app, and add on modules for options trading (OptionsPro), automated execution (RoboTrader) and stop management (ProfitLocker Pro). The platform analyzes roughly 16,000 US listed stocks each trading day and layers on market timing signals meant to flag broad market tops and bottoms, alongside stock screeners, watchlists, charting and portfolio tracking. VectorVest's differentiator against general charting and screening platforms is that it does not leave stock selection to the user's own technical reading; it compresses fundamental valuation and price momentum into a single composite rating and a daily directional call, aimed at investors who want a repeatable, rules based process rather than discretionary chart interpretation. Its customer base runs from self-directed retail investors to money managers, brokers and financial advisers, and the company markets its process as usable in about ten minutes a day. Since 2008, when it introduced VectorVest 7, the platform has sourced Nasdaq market data, and in 2023 it upgraded to Nasdaq Last Sale (NLS) data, the same real-time last-sale feed used by major brokers and financial news networks, which the company says let it deliver institutional-grade pricing to retail subscribers while holding pricing steady. The company was built around the work of Dr. Bart A. DiLiddo, a mathematician with a PhD from Case Western Reserve University and an MIT Sloan School of Management graduate, who developed his stock-scoring formulas after retiring at 55 from a 30-year career at BF Goodrich, where he had been an executive. DiLiddo launched the advisory commercially in 1988 as a printed weekly publication covering about 3,000 stocks, moved to electronic distribution in the early 1990s and to Windows based software in 1995; the underlying company is dated to 1991. DiLiddo died on September 1, 2023, at age 92. VectorVest remains headquartered in Cornelius, North Carolina, and is now led by Don Payton, Chairman and President, who is married to DiLiddo's daughter Kara Payton, a longtime VectorVest employee, making it a family-continued business after the founder's death. The company states it has served over one million investors across more than three decades and cites a track record of buy/sell timing calls around the 2000, 2008 and 2020 market downturns; these are the company's own claims and were not independently verified in this pass. VectorVest's current positioning centers on the 2023-2024 Nasdaq Last Sale data upgrade as its main technical differentiator, framing near-real-time pricing and market-timing signals as a way for retail subscribers to act on the same data institutional investors see, rather than on a lag.
