The LSE Directory / Data providers

CoinAPI is a market data infrastructure provider that collects, normalises and distributes cryptocurrency trading data from more than 400 exchanges through a single unified interface. It streams and archives trades, quotes, Level 2 and Level 3 order books, OHLCV candles, options data, exchange rates and reference data covering spot, futures, perpetual and options markets across more than 1,000 digital assets. Data is delivered through REST, WebSocket, FIX and a daily flat-file archive (S3-compatible, CSV.gz or Parquet, delivered by 06:00 UTC), so a client can pick the interface that matches its latency and volume needs instead of integrating each exchange separately. The company positions itself on breadth and depth of raw exchange data rather than curated indices or trading signals. Its stated differentiators versus other crypto data aggregators are native FIX connectivity for low-latency institutional use, full order-book reconstruction via flat files with no depth cap (true Level 3, order-by-order data is currently limited to Bitso and Coinbase, with other venues normalised to whatever depth each exchange exposes), and a historical archive the company describes as exceeding 678 TB, with tick-level records for some venues reaching back to 2010. Its customer base spans quantitative funds, exchanges, brokerages, fintech app builders, wealth managers and AI or research teams that would otherwise have to build and maintain dozens of exchange-specific integrations. CoinAPI was launched in 2017 by founder and CEO Artur Pietrzyk, who built the first version as a personal project to run high-frequency market-making and statistical-arbitrage models across the roughly five crypto exchanges that existed at the time. The operating company is UK-registered API Bricks Ltd (Companies House number 08050945, registered in London), a legal entity originally incorporated in 2012 under an unrelated name, renamed COINAPI LTD in 2020, then renamed again to API BRICKS LTD in March 2025 as the business broadened beyond crypto. Case studies published by the company name institutional users including digital-asset trade-infrastructure provider Wyden, OTC trading desk Satstreet, and Singapore-based wealth manager SingAlliance. Since the 2025 corporate rename, API Bricks has run CoinAPI alongside a sister product, FinFeedAPI, which extends the same account and API infrastructure to equities, FX and SEC filings data (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K and others, spanning more than 30 years of filings), letting customers combine crypto and traditional-market data under a single integration rather than sourcing them from separate vendors.
