Intrinio is a US financial data company that packages market and fundamental data into APIs, SDKs and bulk feeds for developers and financial applications. Its catalogue spans US and global equity prices, delivered real time, delayed and historical, US options quotes and trades with Greeks and implied volatility, standardised and as-reported company fundamentals, Wall Street consensus estimates, ETF holdings and analytics, corporate events, insider transaction data and reference data such as FDIC bank filings. Data reaches customers through REST and WebSocket APIs, client SDKs for Python, Java, Ruby and JavaScript, Excel and Google Sheets add ins, and bulk file or direct database delivery. The company competes on price and access rather than on exclusive datasets. Its core real time equity product resells the same consolidated tape that legacy terminal vendors use, the CTA A, CTA B and UTP SIP feeds, which together cover all US exchange traded equity volume, and it separately offers a lower cost real time feed built on IEX data for customers who want to avoid the roughly $10,000 a month exchange fee attached to full SIP real time redistribution. That structure, combined with tiered self-serve pricing, makes it a common choice for individual developers, early stage fintech teams and academic users who need exchange grade data without an enterprise contract, while an enterprise tier serves larger institutional customers on the same underlying data pipeline. Intrinio was founded in St. Petersburg, Florida by Rachel Carpenter, who serves as chief executive, and Joseph French, who serves as president and chief financial officer; the two met as finance students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and built the company after struggling to afford market data for an earlier project. It has raised venture funding across several rounds, including a $5 million Series A round in 2019 with investors such as Nyca Partners. As of 2024 it was reported to operate with a team of around 18 people and roughly $3 million in annual revenue. Intrinio's own site names Oracle, Vanguard, Robinhood and Broadridge among the organisations using its data. In June 2026 Intrinio relaunched its website and pricing around three self-serve tiers, Individual, Startup and Enterprise, and added a Model Context Protocol server so AI tools such as Claude and ChatGPT can query its financial data through natural language requests, a move the company framed as extending institutional grade data access to individual developers and AI-agent builders rather than only traditional API integrators.
