The LSE Directory / Data providers
Kaiko is an institutional digital asset data provider, founded in 2014 and headquartered in Paris, with additional offices in New York, London, and Singapore. Its core business is aggregating, cleaning, and normalising trade data, order books, and reference rates from more than 100 centralized and decentralized crypto exchanges, then distributing that data as market feeds, fair value pricing, indices, and risk and derivatives analytics to financial institutions, exchanges, custodians, asset managers, and regulators. The company also runs blockchain monitoring tools for AML and KYC compliance and administers reference rates and multi asset indices that comply with the EU Benchmark Regulation. Kaiko positions itself against other market data vendors on regulatory standing and breadth rather than price: it holds SOC 2 Type II certification, its rates are BMR compliant, and following its 2026 acquisition of Cometh, a MiCA and CASP licensed European DeFi infrastructure firm, it added a regulated onchain data capability inside the EU. Its customer base skews toward regulated institutions, banks, exchanges, and fund managers who need auditable, compliant data rather than retail focused price tickers, which the company frames as differentiating it from crypto native data startups that do not carry the same certifications. The company was founded in 2014 and is led by CEO Ambre Soubiran, who has around two decades of finance experience including a prior role at HSBC Global Markets and has been involved in cryptocurrency since 2012. Kaiko raised an initial five million dollars in 2019, a twenty four million dollar Series A in mid-2021, and a fifty three million dollar Series B in mid-2022, taking total disclosed venture funding to more than eighty million dollars. On June 2, 2026, Kaiko acquired Amberdata, a US focused digital asset data and analytics firm known for its GVOL options analytics platform, in what the companies described as the largest consolidation to date among institutional digital asset data providers; it was Kaiko's fifth acquisition. Following the Amberdata deal, the combined company says it serves more than 260 institutional clients worldwide with coverage across more than 200 exchanges, 20 or more blockchains, and over 20,000 digital assets, operating around the clock across three continents. Kaiko also announced a February 2026 collaboration with Bloomberg to bring licensed financial data into blockchain environments, part of a broader push by the company to position itself, in its own words, as an independent, regulated provider that institutions can rely on for both centralized and onchain digital asset data.
