Nansen is a blockchain analytics and intelligence platform that attaches proprietary, human readable labels to wallet addresses across dozens of chains, then turns that labelled data into dashboards, alerts and screening tools. Its core offering enriches otherwise pseudonymous onchain activity, wallet balances, token transfers, exchange flows, NFT trades, with entity tags (exchanges, funds, market makers, known "smart money" wallets), so users can see who is moving capital rather than just anonymous addresses. Flagship products include Token God Mode and a Token Screener for token level analysis, a Profiler for individual wallet research, a Portfolio tracker, and Nansen Query for running custom queries over the underlying data; the same data is also exposed through a REST API and, more recently, a Model Context Protocol integration so AI agents and tools such as Claude Desktop or Cursor can pull onchain data through natural language requests. Nansen's specialisation is wallet labelling and smart money tracking rather than raw block explorer data or trade execution alone, which differentiates it from generic chain explorers and from purely execution focused trading terminals. It targets onchain traders, investors, portfolio managers, crypto funds and developers who need to identify which wallets are accumulating or distributing a token before the broader market reacts. The company has since layered a non-custodial trading experience on top of its research tools, letting users execute spot and perpetual futures trades (including Hyperliquid perpetuals) directly from the same interface where they research wallet flows, with order routing across venues such as Jupiter, OKX and LI.FI, and a mobile app built on a Privy-powered non-custodial wallet. The company was founded by Alex Svanevik, Lars Bakke Krogvig and Evgeny Medvedev, and takes its name from Fridtjof Nansen, the Norwegian explorer, scientist and diplomat, chosen by the founders as an embodiment of the values of transparency, curiosity and speed. It raised a $1.2 million seed round led by Mechanism Capital and Skyfall Ventures, a $12 million Series A in June 2021 led by Andreessen Horowitz, and a $75 million Series B in December 2021 led by Accel with participation from GIC, Andreessen Horowitz, Tiger Global and SCB 10X, for total disclosed funding of roughly $88 million. By the time of the Series B announcement the company had grown to a team of over 80 people across 28 countries and had expanded coverage from Ethereum and Polygon to eight blockchains total; today the platform advertises coverage of 500 million plus labelled wallet addresses across 18 or more chains, including Ethereum, Solana, Base and Hyperliquid. Nansen maintains hubs in multiple cities including Singapore, Lisbon, Miami, London and Bangkok. Nansen has been running a points based loyalty program, Nansen Points, tied to platform usage and staking, which has fuelled speculation about a future NSN token launch; as of this writing the company has not confirmed a token generation event and has publicly warned users about scam accounts falsely claiming to sell NSN tokens.
