The LSE Directory / Data providers
NYSE Market Data is the proprietary market data business of the New York Stock Exchange, sold and distributed through ICE Data Services, the data arm of NYSE's parent company, Intercontinental Exchange (ICE). It packages the order and trade flow off NYSE's Pillar trading platform, covering the NYSE, NYSE Arca, NYSE American, NYSE National and NYSE Texas venues, into real-time feeds (the order-by-order Integrated Feed with full depth of book, Pillar Depth, and top-of-book products), historical tick-by-tick TAQ data for backtesting and post-trade analysis, corporate actions, and reference data. As the direct exchange operator rather than a reseller, its differentiator is that the Integrated Feed presents a single, deterministic, un-throttled, sequenced view of every order, modification, trade, cancellation and imbalance exactly as it occurs on the matching engine, instead of a delayed or consolidated reconstruction. Delivery spans traditional direct colocation feeds for latency-sensitive trading firms, NYSE Cloud Streaming (a Kafka-compatible AWS service built on Redpanda, publicly detailed in August 2025, offering sub-hundred-millisecond access without dedicated infrastructure), historical downloads via AWS, and a network of more than 16 authorized redistributors, including FactSet, Refinitiv, TradingView and Databento, for firms that do not connect directly. NYSE itself dates to 1792; its current parent, Intercontinental Exchange, was founded in May 2000 by Jeffrey Sprecher, who remains chair and chief executive, and completed its purchase of NYSE Euronext in November 2013 in a deal valued at $8.2 billion when announced. ICE built its exchange data business as ICE Data, formed in 2003, then expanded it in June 2016 to combine NYSE's exchange data with SuperDerivatives and Interactive Data Corporation under the ICE Data Services brand. NYSE's matching engines process on the order of 1.1 trillion records a day; in ICE's 2025 results, data and connectivity services made up 13% of the Exchanges segment's record $5.4 billion in net revenue, and ICE's separate Fixed Income and Data Services segment (covering non-exchange pricing, reference data and index businesses) generated $2.4 billion, 24% of consolidated revenue. In August 2025, NYSE and Redpanda publicly detailed the Redpanda-based build-out of NYSE Cloud Streaming, with NYSE reporting roughly a fivefold improvement in streaming throughput over its prior Kafka-based system, aimed at giving retail brokers, fintechs and other cloud-based customers exchange data without physical infrastructure.
