The LSE Directory / Data providers
Options Technology, registered as Options Technology Limited (Companies House number 02872304, incorporated 16 November 1993, registered office in London), is a capital markets IT infrastructure provider. It supplies managed networking, colocation, hosting, cybersecurity and market data services to financial firms under its Atlas product suite, which includes AtlasFabric (low latency networking), AtlasVision (network monitoring), AtlasWorkplace (managed desktop and IT support), AtlasApps (application hosting) and AtlasFeed (market data). The firm operates from offices in financial centres including London, New York, Chicago, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore, Toronto, Paris, Belfast, Cambridge and Auckland, with Belfast serving as a major operations and graduate hiring hub. Its market data business runs on technology it acquired with ACTIV Financial in October 2021, a normalised, multi asset feed handler platform drawing real time, delayed and historical pricing from more than 200 exchanges and liquidity venues worldwide, now sold as AtlasFeed alongside tick capture and backtesting tools. This combination of owning both the network and hosting layer and the data normalisation layer differentiates Options from pure connectivity or colocation vendors: it sells clients a single vendor stack for network, compute and market data. Customers are concentrated among hedge funds, banks, market makers and trading software vendors running latency sensitive algorithmic and market making strategies, plus asset managers and private equity firms buying managed IT and security services. The company was founded in 1993 as a technology service provider to hedge funds and grew mainly through acquisition: Fixnetix, an outsourced trading and market data infrastructure business, was bought from DXC Technology in April 2021, and ACTIV Financial Systems, a market data vendor co-founded in 2002 by Steve McNeany (CEO) and Michael Dunne (CTO), was acquired in October 2021. Boston based private equity firm Abry Partners invested in 2019 and backed this acquisition period; Vitruvian Partners, a London headquartered growth equity firm managing roughly 20 billion euros, took a significant stake in October 2024. Danny Moore is President and Co-CEO; Larry Leibowitz, a former NYSE Euronext COO, was appointed Chairman of the Board in May 2026. The company states it supports more than 550 clients worldwide. In 2026 Options continued expanding beyond its core connectivity and data business: it announced availability of what it called the first commercially accessible quantum computing capability for capital markets firms in New York in January 2026, and completed the acquisition of Crossvale, a US based application and platform modernisation firm specialising in containerisation and managed OpenShift and Kubernetes services, in March 2026, extending the Atlas platform into cloud modernisation and AI infrastructure work.
