RavenPack is a financial data analytics company that applies natural language processing to unstructured text, news wires, regulatory filings, earnings call transcripts, job postings, insider transaction reports, and social and web content, converting it into structured, machine readable datasets: sentiment scores, event classifications and entity linked signals. Its flagship platform, Edge, draws on more than 40,000 news, filings and web sources in 13 languages and identifies entities such as public and private companies, executives and locations; the platform includes datasets covering news analytics, job analytics, transcripts, earnings dates and insider transactions, plus a separate Annotations product for human reviewed labeling of entities and events. RavenPack specializes in serving quantitative hedge funds, banks, asset managers and academic institutions that need machine consumable signals for systematic alpha generation, risk monitoring and compliance surveillance, rather than the human readable news terminals sold by larger financial data incumbents. Its output is built to sit inside a backtesting or execution pipeline as a data feed, not a screen for a trader to read. It also sells packaged, factor style products, including company level indicators such as Earnings Intelligence and Controversy News and macro level indicators such an economic sentiment index and a forex sentiment index, aimed at giving quant teams pre built signals rather than raw text to process themselves. The company was founded in 2003 and is headquartered in Marbella, Spain, led by CEO and co-founder Armando Gonzalez. It employs roughly 200 people across more than 30 nationalities. In July 2024 RavenPack raised a 20 million dollar investment led by GP Bullhound's DoubleDown I fund, with participation from the European Investment Bank, to build its Bigdata.com platform, an AI research tool combining a research assistant and API access over RavenPack's data; Bigdata.com launched into beta the same month and RavenPack has said it was subsequently adopted by more than 40 financial institutions, including four global investment banks and a top five credit focused hedge fund. RavenPack holds ISO 27001 and AICPA SOC certifications. On 1 December 2025, RavenPack secured a strategic investment from FT Ventures, the venture arm of the Financial Times Group, alongside a content licensing agreement giving RavenPack real time and historical Financial Times journalism, with the archive reaching back to 2012, fully licensed for generative AI use. The FT content is being integrated into three RavenPack products, Analytics, Annotations and Bigdata.com, so institutional clients can build AI research agents grounded in FT reporting alongside RavenPack's own analytics.
