The LSE Directory / Data providers
Santiment is a crypto market-intelligence platform that aggregates on-chain, social-media and software-development data for cryptocurrency assets into a single research and signal product. Its main interface, Sanbase, is a dashboard of watchlists, screeners, customizable charting and real-time alerts; the same underlying data is exposed through SanAPI, a GraphQL-based feed built for teams that want to pull the datasets into their own data lake or quantitative research pipeline. Santiment covers more than 2,500 crypto assets across 12 blockchains with over 1,100 individual metrics, spanning categories such as exchange flows, whale wallet activity, social volume and sentiment, and GitHub commit activity for each project's development team. The company's specialisation is behavioral analytics: rather than price and volume alone, its differentiator is pairing on-chain flows with off-chain signals such as social-media sentiment and developer output, so a user can cross-reference a price move against, for example, a spike in exchange deposits or a surge in social discussion of a token. Its address-labeling dataset, more than 75 million labeled Ethereum addresses and 65 million labeled Bitcoin addresses, is used to attribute wallet activity to exchanges, whales and other holder classes. The product is tiered from a free plan with a reporting lag and limited API calls up to paid Sanbase Pro and Max subscriptions and an enterprise API tier, and its customer base spans individual retail traders through to hedge funds, quant funds and crypto project teams using the API for internal research. Santiment was founded in 2016 by Maksim Balashevich, who remains the company's CEO, and is based in Zug, Switzerland. In July 2017 it ran a token sale for SAN, an ERC-20 utility and governance token, raising $12,215,250 worth of ETH over a two-stage crowdsale on July 4 to 5, 2017 (a community sale followed by a Priority Pass pre-sale that filled the cap in under a minute, cancelling the planned third-day public round); SAN holders receive a discount on paid Sanbase subscription plans and can burn tokens toward platform access. The company operates with a fully distributed team that it describes as spanning roughly 19 countries and 11 time zones. In October 2025, Santiment announced an investment in EquitiesTracker Holdings Bhd, a company listed on Bursa Malaysia's Leap Market with licensed fund-management subsidiaries and equities-research operations across Malaysia, Singapore and Australia. Santiment framed the deal, per founder Maksim Balashevich, as a step toward a planned Santiment Intelligence Network intended to extend its on-chain and sentiment analytics into regulated, traditional-finance markets alongside its existing Web3 coverage.
