The LSE Directory / Data providers
The Tie is a New York based provider of data and intelligence services for institutional participants in digital assets. Its flagship product, the Tie Terminal, brings together real time crypto news from thousands of primary sources, sentiment analytics, spot and derivatives market data, and on chain data in a single workstation built for trading desks and research teams. The underlying feeds are also sold as APIs, so exchanges, platforms and other financial institutions can embed The Tie's data directly into their own products, and the company runs a Bridge Messenger product built as compliant messaging for crypto institutions. The firm's specialization is social and news sentiment: it says it has captured crypto related conversation across more than a thousand cryptocurrencies since 2017, filtering out over 90 percent of crypto related social media activity before quantifying what remains into sentiment and conversation volume metrics. That sentiment layer differentiates it from data vendors that focus purely on price or on chain metrics. The Tie pairs it with a Corporate Access and Advisory business offering token issuers investor relations tools, and, since January 2026, an Infrastructure Solutions division built around institutional staking. Its client base skews toward hedge funds, OTC desks, market makers, trading venues and banks rather than retail traders. The Tie was founded in 2017 by Joshua Frank, who serves as CEO, and Eric Frank, who serves as Chairman; Ben Latz joined as co-founder and CTO in November 2018. It is headquartered at 555 Madison Avenue in New York, with additional offices in Boca Raton, Florida and Austin, Texas. The company has disclosed a single funding round, a 9 million dollar Series A in 2022 at a 100 million dollar post money valuation, and says it has been net profitable since inception. It reports roughly 500 institutional clients and about 75 full time employees and contractors, and conducts investment banking activity through an affiliate, The Tie Capital LLC, a FINRA and SIPC member. In January 2026 The Tie acquired Stakin, an Estonia based, non custodial institutional staking provider with a seven year track record and roughly 1.5 billion dollars in assets under delegation across more than 40 blockchain networks, funding the cash and equity deal from its own balance sheet. All 15 Stakin employees, including co-founder and CEO Edouard Lavidalle, joined The Tie as part of the deal, forming the new Infrastructure Solutions division alongside The Tie's existing Market Intelligence, Compliant Communication, and Corporate Access and Advisory lines.
