Alex Svanevik is a Norwegian data scientist and entrepreneur who co-founded Nansen, a blockchain analytics platform, in October 2019 alongside Lars Bakke Krogvig and Evgeny Medvedev, and serves as its Chief Executive Officer. He named the company after Norwegian polar explorer and scientist Fridtjof Nansen. Before Nansen, he spent over a decade in data science and analytics, including roles as a data science manager at Schibsted Media Group and as Chief Data Scientist at the crypto research firm CoinFi, before founding D5, a data science collective, in 2019. Under his leadership Nansen has raised more than $88 million from investors including Accel, GIC, and Andreessen Horowitz, and grown into a widely used platform that enriches on-chain data with wallet labels for crypto investors and institutions.
