Brad Katsuyama is a Canadian-American executive who co-founded IEX Group in 2012 after discovering as head of electronic trading at Royal Bank of Canada that high-frequency traders were front-running his institutional orders. He became the subject of Michael Lewis's bestselling book Flash Boys (2014). IEX's 'speed bump', a 350-microsecond coil of optical fibre, was designed to neutralise latency arbitrage by HFT firms.
