AlphaSense is a market intelligence and search platform, founded in 2011 in New York by Jack Kokko and Raj Neervannan, that applies artificial intelligence and natural language processing to help finance and business professionals find insights across more than 500 million premium and public documents, including SEC and global regulatory filings, earnings call transcripts, broker and equity research, expert call transcripts, ESG reports, and company fundamentals. Its core product pairs a generative AI search engine, marketed as Generative Search, with structured financial data and workflow tools such as automated monitoring, sentiment analysis, and AI generated summary reports and slides, letting analysts query large document sets in natural language rather than by manual keyword search. AlphaSense differentiates on the breadth and licensing of its content library rather than on trading or live market data: it combines public filings with premium, proprietary, and internal enterprise content, including expert interview transcripts acquired through Tegus, inside a single workspace, and offers a multi step, agent based Deep Research mode for longer research tasks and report generation. It sells primarily to entire research desks and enterprise wide licenses rather than individual users, with customers concentrated in investment banking, hedge funds, private equity, asset management, corporate strategy and competitive intelligence teams, consulting and professional services, and life sciences and healthcare, which sets it apart from single user AI copilots and from trading platforms or market data terminals. The company grew in large part through acquisition: Tegus itself had acquired BamSEC in October 2021 and Canalyst in August 2022 for roughly 300 million dollars, before AlphaSense acquired Sentieo in May 2022 and then completed its acquisition of Tegus on July 8, 2024, a deal paired with a 650 million dollar funding round that valued the combined company at 4 billion dollars. In June 2026 AlphaSense raised a further 350 million dollars led by Vitruvian Partners, Accenture Ventures, and J.P. Morgan Asset Management, joined by new investors D. E. Shaw Ventures and Pinegrove Opportunity Partners and existing backers CapitalG, Goldman Sachs Alternatives, and Viking Global Investors, taking total funding raised to more than 1 billion dollars and valuation to 7.5 billion dollars. AlphaSense reported annual recurring revenue surpassing 600 million dollars in the first quarter of 2026, up from 500 million dollars in October 2025, and says it serves more than 7,000 enterprise customers, including 88 percent of the S&P 100 and 80 percent of the world's largest banks. The June 2026 round nearly doubled AlphaSense's valuation from its 2024 mark in about two years, a pace the company attributes to enterprise adoption of its AI research agents; it has also been named to Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies list for 2026 and Forbes' Cloud 100 for 2025.
