The LSE Directory / Fundamental data
Experian Business is the commercial credit and business information division of Experian plc, a FTSE 100 group listed on the London Stock Exchange under ticker EXPN. It produces business credit reports and risk scores, most notably Intelliscore Plus, a 1 to 100 delinquency risk score built from third party reported payment and public record data, and the BusinessIQ Premier Profile, which combines credit risk, fraud checks and company background into one report. Around these sit a decisioning platform (DecisionIQ, the Ascend Commercial Suite), fraud and identity tools (the Sentinel Commercial Entity Fraud Suite, Identity Velocity, BizID), and B2B marketing, data quality and enrichment services delivered through products such as OneSearch and an API Hub. Its customers are lenders, insurers, financial institutions, credit and risk teams, and B2B marketers, not retail investors or traders. In the United States it markets a business database it states covers 99.9 percent of US companies, with particular depth in small and midsize business data; in the UK, through Experian Ltd and products such as BusinessView and the e-Series, it covers around 5 million UK limited and non-limited businesses plus roughly 45 million international business records sourced in part from Companies House, Thomson Directories and Yellow Pages. This positions it against commercial credit bureaux such as Dun and Bradstreet and Equifax rather than against market data or trading platforms. The Experian brand dates to October 1996, when Great Universal Stores (GUS) combined its UK credit bureau CCN with the US business TRW Information Services and rebranded the combined operation as Experian; Experian plc traces its lineage further back to Nottingham credit bureau roots from the 1970s and, per the company's own history, to London merchants sharing credit information as early as 1826. GUS demerged Experian as an independent, London Stock Exchange listed company in October 2006. Experian plc is now headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, with an operational base in Nottingham, UK, is led by chief executive Brian Cassin, and reported revenue of 7.507 billion US dollars for the year ended 31 March 2025 across roughly 23,300 employees in 32 countries; it describes itself, across its full consumer and business operations, as one of the "Big Three" credit bureaux alongside Equifax and TransUnion. For the year ended 31 March 2025, Experian plc reported organic revenue growth of 6 percent in its Business-to-Business segment, which it attributed to analytics, mortgage, alternative data and priority-vertical products, alongside 7 percent organic growth in Consumer Services; guidance for the following year (FY26) was for total revenue growth of 9 to 11 percent.
