The LSE Directory / Fundamental data
Fiscal.ai is an AI powered investment research platform and financial data provider, known as FinChat until it rebranded in June 2025. The company runs two linked products: a web based Terminal where investors browse standardized and as-reported financial statements, build comparison tables and DCF models, and query an AI assistant called Copilot for cited, sourced answers about a company's filings and earnings calls; and a REST API plus a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that lets developers, fintech platforms and asset managers pull the same fundamentals data programmatically, including a native connector into Claude and, since June 2026, an official app inside ChatGPT and OpenAI's Codex. Its differentiator among fundamental data providers is depth rather than pure breadth. General financials and ratios, sourced from S&P Market Intelligence, cover more than 100,000 public companies, ETFs and funds worldwide, with 20 plus years of annual and 40 plus quarters of quarterly history. Layered on top is Fiscal.ai's own segment and KPI database, built by extracting the operating metrics management actually discusses on earnings calls (unit sales, subscriber counts, same-store sales and similar line items) rather than just consolidated headline numbers; this detailed layer covers the largest roughly 2,300 companies globally by market capitalization. The Terminal is sold on a free, Pro and Max subscription ladder aimed at retail investors and portfolio managers, while API and MCP access is custom priced for institutions and software builders, positioning the company between a self-serve research app and a licensed financial data feed. The business is incorporated as Stratosphere Technology Inc., founded in Toronto in late 2021 by Braden Dennis, Ryan White, Adrian Iwanicki and Kevin Bojan; Dennis, the CEO, also co-hosts The Canadian Investor Podcast, and the original Stratosphere product aggregated public company KPI data for that show's listeners before the FinChat product launched in April 2023. FinChat reportedly reached 100,000 users within its first month and passed 160,000 users and $1 million in annual recurring revenue by the end of that year. The company raised a $250,000 pre-seed round in November 2022, a $1.5 million seed round from Social Leverage in November 2023, and a $10 million Series A led by Portage Ventures, with Social Leverage and VanEck also participating, that closed alongside the June 2025 rebrand to Fiscal.ai, bringing total funding to roughly $13 million. It holds SOC2 Type II accreditation and names institutional users including Morgan Stanley, Raymond James, Franklin Templeton and Manulife. Since the rebrand the company has framed itself less as a chat app and more as financial data infrastructure, pushing its API and MCP layer so third party fintech platforms can embed its fundamentals directly, and in June 2026 it was among the first business apps OpenAI opened ChatGPT and Codex to, letting users query Fiscal.ai's sourced financial figures from inside those chat interfaces without a manual MCP setup.
