The LSE Directory / Fundamental data

London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) is a UK financial markets infrastructure and data company organised into divisions spanning Data and Analytics, Capital Markets, Post Trade, LSEG Technology and FTSE Russell. Its Data and Analytics division, built largely from the 2021 acquisition of Refinitiv, supplies cross asset pricing, news, analytics and company fundamentals to institutional finance through its flagship platform, LSEG Workspace, alongside the Datastream historical time series database and the Worldscope company fundamentals database. On company fundamentals specifically, LSEG differentiates by offering data in two parallel formats: standardized financial statements built on uniform definitions for cross company screening and comparison, and as reported, company specific statements that mirror how each business actually presents its results, with click through links back to the original source filing. Coverage runs to 120,000-plus active and inactive companies across 120-plus countries, with history back to 1980 for developed markets and 1991 for emerging markets, up to 40 years of annual data. Customers span investment banks, asset managers, corporates, academic institutions and students, accessed through Workspace, the LSEG Data Library, or direct feeds and APIs. LSEG traces its current corporate form to a June 2007 merger with Milan based Borsa Italiana that created London Stock Exchange Group plc, now listed on its own exchange under ticker LSEG and a constituent of the FTSE 100. Its 2021 all share acquisition of Refinitiv, bought from a consortium including Blackstone affiliated funds and Thomson Reuters for close to 27 billion dollars, retired the Refinitiv brand and folded Eikon, Datastream and Worldscope into LSEG. For its 2025 financial year LSEG reported revenue of 9.081 billion pounds and net income of 1.506 billion pounds; the group is led by CEO David Schwimmer. The Refinitiv era Eikon terminal was formally withdrawn on 30 June 2025 after users were migrated to LSEG Workspace, first launched in 2020. Since December 2022, LSEG has run a 10 year strategic partnership with Microsoft under which Microsoft acquired a stake of roughly 4 percent in LSEG and LSEG committed to at least 2.8 billion dollars of Azure cloud spend, migrating its data platform to Microsoft Cloud and making Workspace interoperable with Microsoft applications.
