The LSE Directory / Fundamental data
Quartr is a Stockholm-headquartered financial data company that collects and structures investor relations material, earnings call audio and transcripts, presentation slides, capital markets day content, and regulatory filings, then makes it searchable and queryable at scale, including through AI chat interfaces. It sells two commercial products: Quartr Pro, a desktop research platform for investment professionals, and the Quartr API, a data infrastructure layer that lets developers, financial institutions and AI companies pull structured IR data into their own systems. It also offers a Quartr MCP integration for connecting AI environments and agents to its data, alongside a free consumer mobile app that was the company's original product. Quartr specialises in first-party, qualitative public-market data, sourcing material directly from the companies themselves rather than aggregating from secondary providers. Its stated coverage spans more than 14,000 public companies across 65 or more markets. This distinguishes it from quantitative fundamentals vendors: Quartr's core asset is narrative and event content (what management said and showed on a call) rather than structured financial statement line items. Its customer base spans hedge funds, asset managers, sell-side and equity researchers, investor relations teams, and AI or LLM developers building research tools on top of its API. The company was founded in 2020 by Oscar Küntzel, who serves as CEO, together with co-founders including Sami Osman, August Nordström, Oliver Hamrin, and David Dag; it began as a free mobile app for retail investors before pivoting toward institutional and enterprise customers. Quartr has raised funding across multiple rounds from investors including Altos Ventures, Yanno Capital, and Öhman; a $10 million round announced in late July 2025, backed entirely by existing investors, followed what the company reported as roughly threefold annual recurring revenue growth over the prior year. As of that announcement, Quartr counted three of the world's five largest hedge funds by assets under management among its Quartr Pro clients, and two of the "Magnificent Seven" technology companies as API partners. The company has since opened offices in New York and Dublin in addition to its Stockholm base, and reports headcount above 100 employees. Quartr's current positioning centers on AI infrastructure for company research: it frames its API and MCP offerings as the plumbing that lets AI systems and LLM-based tools reason over verified, first-party company disclosures rather than scraped or secondary text. This followed directly from the July 2025 funding round, which the company described as being used to accelerate product development and enterprise expansion given demand it said had outpaced its own planning.
