Paul Tudor Jones II (born 1954) is a discretionary global macro and trend-following trader who founded Tudor Investment Corp in 1980. He became legendary in finance circles after the 1987 documentary 'Trader' captured his prediction and profitable trading of the Black Monday crash on 19 October 1987, during which he reportedly tripled the fund's money, Tudor BVI Fund gained approximately 201% in 1987. The documentary has since become one of the most sought-after trading films in the industry, though Jones later attempted to suppress its distribution. Jones is known for his deep study of market history and his macro framework that synthesises price action, sentiment, and economic fundamentals. He is also the founder of the Robin Hood Foundation, a major New York poverty-fighting charity, and the Just Capital non-profit initiative measuring corporate justice. Tudor Investment Corp manages approximately $12-14 billion and has delivered competitive macro returns over more than four decades.
