Da Vinci Trading, legally Da Vinci Derivatives B.V., is a proprietary trading firm headquartered in Amsterdam. It trades exclusively with its own capital, not client money, across options, equities, futures and digital assets on exchanges in Europe, the Americas and Asia. The firm runs two core strategies: market making, providing continuous two sided liquidity as a neutral counterparty, and position taking, holding directional views built on its own quantitative research. The firm specialises in volatility arbitrage and delta one strategies, seeking to profit from pricing inefficiencies rather than simple directional bets. As a principal trading house with no external clients, it differs from sell side market makers and asset managers; its risk is entirely its own capital. Traders, quantitative researchers and software engineers work together on a non-hierarchical desk, and in 2020 the development team built its own ultra-low latency trading system rather than relying on vendor infrastructure. Da Vinci was founded in 2015 by David Altunkaynak, Vidit Aggarwal and Jiteshu Godara. It is licensed by the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets, marking the milestone with a gong ceremony at Euronext Amsterdam on December 28, 2017 as it moved to fully independent trading in 2018. Since then it has added offices in Miami, Hong Kong and Mumbai alongside its Amsterdam headquarters. Company data aggregator Tracxn put headcount at roughly 296 employees as of May 2026. The firm has been expanding its digital asset market making. In September 2025, cryptocurrency exchange MEXC named Da Vinci one of its market makers to tighten spreads and improve execution on its spot markets. In May 2025, Da Vinci acquired the token loan desk of Hong Kong based digital asset market maker Skynet Trading, adding token lending to its existing market making and OTC activities in digital assets.
