The LSE Directory / Prop firms

Maven Trading is a proprietary trading firm running a funded-trader programme: a retail trader pays a one-time fee to attempt an evaluation on a simulated MetaTrader account, and traders who pass are granted a funded account and trade using the firm's capital under a profit-split arrangement rather than risking their own money. Funded accounts range from $2,000 to $100,000, with a scaling plan that can grow an account toward $1,000,000 over time. The platform covers 50 or more forex pairs plus indices, commodities and cryptocurrencies, with leverage of 75:1 on forex and 20:1 on commodities, indices and precious metals, and charges a per-side commission on forex and metals/energy trades while running zero swap fees across account types. Maven differentiates through format variety and low entry pricing rather than a single flagship challenge. Alongside standard one-step, two-step and three-step evaluations, it runs an instant-funding option with no evaluation phase, a lower-cost "Promotional Mini" challenge with a 24-hour trading window, an "OMO" two-step variant, a five-dollar-entry "Buy Now Pay Later" account, and a prediction-markets challenge, each carrying its own profit target and split (80% on the standard and Buy Now Pay Later formats, 70% on OMO, Promotional Mini and prediction markets). Its smallest $2,000 evaluation is priced at roughly $13 to $15, undercutting many retail prop firms' entry fees. Payouts are processed every 10 business days but capped at $10,000 per rolling 30-day cycle, with an overflow mechanic that voids profit booked above that cap, a constraint independent reviewers flag as limiting upside on larger or fast-growing funded accounts. The firm launched in 2022. According to its own company blog, co-founder Chris Hunter set its original positioning around affordable, accessible challenges and served as CEO before Jon Alexander, previously Maven's Chief Technology Officer, took over as CEO on 18 July 2024 after acting in the role since February that year; co-founder Sebastian Anthony and CMO Emma Alton round out its current core leadership. Maven states on its own site that it has funded more than 50,000 traders and put over $200 million in total funding behind them, figures that are self-reported rather than independently audited. It carries several thousand Trustpilot reviews with an average rating that independent trackers place in the 4-to-4.6-star range, plus a smaller Feefo profile; recurring criticism in independent prop-firm review coverage centers on wider-than-typical spreads, particularly on gold, and occasional slippage.
