Nassim Nicholas Taleb is a Lebanese-American essayist, statistician and former options trader. He is the author of the Incerto series, including Fooled by Randomness (2001), The Black Swan (2007), Antifragile (2012) and Skin in the Game (2018), which challenge standard risk models and finance theory. The Black Swan introduced the concept of high-impact, unpredictable events to mainstream discourse. He holds positions at NYU Tandon School of Engineering.
