5paisa Capital Limited is an Indian discount stockbroking and investment platform that lets retail customers trade and invest through a mobile app and web terminal in equities, futures and options, currency derivatives, commodities, mutual funds and IPOs, all under a flat per-order brokerage fee (Rs 20 per executed order for equity delivery, intraday and F&O trades) rather than the percentage-of-turnover pricing used by full-service brokers. It also runs a margin trading facility (MTF) book, a mutual fund robo-advisory tool, and, through subsidiary 5paisa P2P Limited, a peer-to-peer lending product. The firm specialises in low-cost, self-directed trading for cost-conscious retail and active traders rather than advisory-led or high-net-worth clients. Its differentiation within India's flat-fee discount-broking category is that it was the first such broker to list its own shares on a stock exchange, giving it public-market capital and disclosure obligations that peer discount brokers do not carry. It is a SEBI-registered stockbroker and research analyst, a CDSL depository participant, an AMFI-registered mutual fund distributor, and holds trading memberships on the NSE, BSE and MCX. 5paisa began in 2016 as a low-cost digital brokerage brand inside IIFL Holdings (the group founded by Nirmal Jain), was demerged into a standalone company, and listed on the NSE and BSE in November 2017 as India's first publicly listed discount broker. In December 2022 the boards of 5paisa Capital and IIFL Securities approved a scheme of arrangement moving IIFL Securities' online retail trading business, and roughly 1.5 million customers, into 5paisa (IIFL Securities shareholders received one 5paisa share for every fifty IIFL Securities shares held), while IIFL Securities retained its higher-asset private-client business; the deal lifted 5paisa's customer base by more than 40%, to over 4.7 million. For the year ended March 2025 the company reported revenue of roughly Rs 360 crore, and its market capitalisation was about Rs 1,526 crore as of June 20, 2026. In April 2026, 5paisa Capital closed a Rs 468.8 crore rights issue priced at Rs 300 per share (one new share for every two held), which was oversubscribed 1.24 times; the company earmarked the proceeds mainly for exchange margin deposits (about Rs 227 crore) and repaying borrowings (about Rs 150 crore), with the rest for general corporate purposes. In its quarter ended December 2025 (Q3 FY26), 5paisa reported quarter-on-quarter growth in trading turnover of 24% and mutual fund assets under management of about Rs 1,868 crore.
