Jacob Amaral is a Canadian software developer turned algorithmic trader from Brampton, Ontario (now based in Miami) who documents building and live-running automated futures trading bots on his YouTube channel, which shows about 33.5K subscribers and 370+ videos as of July 2026, working mainly in NinjaTrader (C#), Interactive Brokers, and Python. By his own account he studied computer science, spent about five years as a corporate software developer, then moved full-time into automated trading, and he says he has worked with hedge funds, prop trading firms, and startups automating strategies, risk, and portfolio management. He sells the "Coding Great Trading Bots" course at codealgotrading.com (40+ hours of content plus 30+ trading systems with source code, per the course page), built the no-code strategy-generation platform StratGen under WeTradeLabs, and co-founded WeTradeHQ, an online day-trader marketplace.
