Kris (Kristopher) Abdelmessih is an American former options market maker, raised in New Jersey of Egyptian heritage, who earned a BA in Economics from Cornell (2000) and began his career at Susquehanna International Group, trading in the AMEX equity-options pits, as an NYSE ETF specialist, and in NYMEX commodity options. He then ran his own commodity-options market-making group (roughly 2008-2012, natural gas, softs and metals on NYMEX/ICE/COMEX) before spending about nine years at Parallax Volatility Advisers in San Francisco managing a relative-value commodities volatility book. Since 2019 he has written the Moontower newsletter ("moontower: a stoner dad explains options trading to his kids"), which he says reaches 25k-26k readers, covering options, volatility, probability and decision-making, and he co-founded the options/volatility analytics platform moontower.ai. His X account shows roughly 50K followers and his Bluesky profile about 28.5K.
