Luke Gromen is an American macroeconomic analyst and the founder and president of FFTT, LLC (Forest For The Trees), an independent research firm he launched in 2014 that combines macro, thematic and sector analysis for institutional and sophisticated individual investors, with a particular focus on the US fiscal position, sovereign debt, the dollar system, gold and energy. He spent 1996-2006 in equity research and sales as a partner at Midwest Research, where he was a founding editor of its weekly thematic summary "Heard in the Midwest," and was then a founding partner of Cleveland Research Company (2006-2014), where he edited its flagship weekly "Straight from the Source." He holds a BBA in Finance and Accounting from the University of Cincinnati, an MBA from Case Western Reserve University, and earned the CFA designation in 2003. Gromen is the author of "The Mr. X Interviews" (Volumes I and II) and publishes the weekly "FFTT Tree Rings" report alongside FFTT's institutional research, appearing frequently on financial podcasts and YouTube channels; third-party trackers put his X audience at roughly 536,000 followers as of July 2026.
