Markus Koch (born April 10, 1971 in Koenigstein im Taunus, Germany) is a German television financial journalist, producer and author who has reported from the New York Stock Exchange for the news channel n-tv since April 1996, and was the first German journalist permanently stationed at the exchange for a German broadcaster. He moved to New York in 1992, worked at Bear Stearns, and in 1994 co-founded the press agency IRM Services, renamed Wall Street Correspondents in 1999, in which the Handelsblatt publishing group took a 25% stake in 2000. Today he streams daily German-language macro and US market-structure commentary from the NYSE floor on YouTube (about 192K subscribers), hosts the Handelsblatt-featured podcast "Wall Street mit Markus Koch", and publishes the weekly Wall Street Memo via his site 360wallstreet.de; his speaker profiles claim over 1.7 million followers across his social channels and podcast. He received the Friedrich Vogel Prize for business journalism in 2017 and was named Journalist of the Year 2019 by the German Derivatives Association (Deutscher Derivate Verband).
