Michael Valtos is a Chicago-based former institutional futures trader and the founder of Orderflows.com, a site and course platform dedicated to teaching retail traders to read footprint (cluster) charts, cumulative delta, and real-time order flow rather than lagging indicators. He spent roughly two decades on institutional trading desks, including a stint as VP of Commodity Trading at JP Morgan, and also traded for Commerzbank, Cargill, and EDF Man, before leaving JP Morgan in 2013 (at age 44, by his own account) to trade independently. In 2015 he wrote the book "Trading Order Flow: Understanding & Profiting From Market Generated Information As It Occurs," and has since built out the Orderflows Trader volume-footprint charting software along with named tools (Delta Surge, Delta Scalper) and a dedicated Delta Trading Course covering order-flow delta trade setups. Valtos frames his approach as bringing institutional-desk methodology to retail traders, describing his target setups as what he calls "Stress Free Trades," low-risk entries with high profit potential identified directly from order flow.
