Patrick Boyle is an Irish investment-management professional turned finance educator, best known for his YouTube channel and the Patrick Boyle On Finance podcast, where he covers quantitative finance, derivatives, market blowups, and financial history with a deadpan comedic style. He began his finance career in 1997, worked with Victor Niederhoffer and held portfolio manager roles at RBS, Millennium, and Nomura, and was a founding partner of the quantitative hedge fund Palomar Capital Management, which he sold in 2018. He is a visiting professor of finance at King's Business School (King's College London), where he won a 2019 King's Education Award for innovation in teaching, and has taught at Queen Mary University of London. He has written three finance textbooks, and his YouTube channel had about 1.27 million subscribers as of July 2026; his site states his podcast averages around 400,000 monthly downloads.
