The LSE Directory / Trading software
Talos operates a software platform that institutions use to trade and manage digital assets across the full lifecycle, from price discovery and execution through settlement. The platform connects to roughly 110 liquidity providers and more than 60 trading venues, exchanges, OTC desks and market makers, through a single order and execution management system (OEMS), giving a trading desk one interface, one risk view and one audit trail across its crypto counterparties instead of separate exchange-native terminals and manual OTC workflows. The company targets institutions that need production-grade trading infrastructure rather than retail-style apps: asset managers, hedge funds, ETF issuers, banks, broker-dealers, OTC desks, custodians and payment processors. Its differentiation from retail-facing exchanges or single-venue brokers is breadth of connectivity combined with workflow depth, including algorithmic execution and RFQ tools, pre- and post-trade risk and portfolio analytics, treasury and settlement, and a white-label offering that lets banks and brokers put their own brand on Talos's underlying technology. Through the acquisitions of Coin Metrics (market data), Cloudwall and D3X Systems (portfolio and risk analytics) and Skolem (DeFi execution infrastructure), Talos has extended its OEMS core into data and portfolio construction rather than remaining a pure execution router. Talos was founded in December 2018 by Anton Katz and Ethan Feldman, both previously of trading-technology vendor Broadway Technology, where Katz was Director of Software and Feldman was Lead Software Engineer; Katz had also headed trading technology at AQR Capital Management. The founders originally intended to start a crypto hedge fund but built Talos instead after concluding that the market's execution and connectivity infrastructure had been built for retail rather than institutional users. The company is headquartered in New York with additional offices including London, Singapore and Cyprus. It raised a $40 million Series A in May 2021 led by Andreessen Horowitz, then a $105 million Series B in May 2022 at a $1.25 billion valuation, and in January 2026 extended that Series B by $45 million to a $150 million total round at an approximately $1.5 billion valuation, with new investors Robinhood Markets, Sony Innovation Fund, IMC, QCP and Karatage joining returning backers a16z crypto, BNY and Fidelity Investments. Talos lists clients including Abra, Anchorage Digital, BlockTower, Coinbase, OSL and Wintermute. In announcing the January 2026 round, Talos said it had roughly doubled both revenue and client count in each of the prior two years, that traditional finance firms made up 60 to 70 percent of new customers over the preceding year, and that asset managers using its platform collectively represent about $21 trillion in assets under management; the company also pointed to a newly integrated request-for-quote workflow with BlackRock's Aladdin platform as part of that momentum.
